Here are some some essential tips on what to consider when working from home.

  1. Create a space
    Make sure you have dedicated a space to be for work. Keep it clear and with everything you need to be able to focus on work.
  2. Transition into work and out of work.
    You used to drive into the office and this gave you time to plan. You collected your thoughts. When you left for the day you drove home and listened to an audiobook or music. Keep doing these things.
  3. Communicate smartly
    You need to step up your communication game. Use your chats, make those phone calls, turn on your video a few times.
  4. Socialize and tend to your network.
    The office for many of us is like a second family. Keep in touch with them. Use chat solutions to stay in more frequent contact. Don’t be digitally isolated. Uplift that chat conversation to a phone call. Your professional network inside and outside of your company is how you get things done. Keep this in good shape.
  5. Keep dressing for success
    You might not need the suit, but get out of those pajamas! Just like a smile on the phone will help project happiness, getting dressed for work will help you continue to be successful.
  6. Go “Home”
    When you have accomplished what you needed to for the day and reach that stopping point. Stop. Leave work and Go “Home.
